"How to kill a lion and feel jolly good about it"
Bomas
Innovative predator/livestock conflict mitigation pilot programme in Kenya
Lions killed in retaliation for killing livestock
Bomas (enclosures for livestock) need to be upgraded with lights and sounds to deter lions and other predators from breaking in and killing the livestock.
Under our project in Kenya, communities will pay for these upgrade kits with one or more calves. see Campaigns section for details
Livestock killed by lions

Not much left of this cow or her calf. Without the benefit of an insurance herd scheme which LionAid is putting in place in Kenya, you can see why these community members would want to retaliate.
The value of these two animals would be about £200/$320.
See "Campaigns" for details of the scheme.
