Monday 16th December 2024
The directors at LionAid would like to wish all our many friends and supporters a very happy festive season. And a particularly big thank you to our donors who have allowed us to continue our crucial work. Additionally, to our partners in lion conservation across the world – like the Maasai community in Kenya we have been able to support, and hope, with your help, to support further in 2025. 2024 was not a prosperous financial year for our charity, largely because people all over the world have experienced monetary difficulties and uncertainties for their own futures. However, this past year saw some very positive building for LionAid. Our board of trustees now has many new faces, including eminent conservation scientists from France, Botswana and the UK as well as more youthful members. We are confident that these new trustees will be of great assistance with their guidance in helping us achieve our conservation goals. Also, we have established many new political connections here in the UK while maintaining strong relations with highly influential conservation-minded people in important African lion range states. Conservation of wild lions is a multifaceted, difficult and often frustrating process, but we shall maintain. We remain steadfast in opposing any trophy hunting of lions in the future, especially because wild lion populations are in further precipitous decline. LionAid has strong hopes and plans for the future, and with your financial assistance we will achieve many of these goals in 2025.
