Another delay on the part of the USFWS in listing lions as threatened.
Friday 30th October 2015
The US Secretary of the Interior was supposed to make an announcement whether she would make a final decision to either list lions as "threatened" on the US Endangered Species Act (ESA) or withdraw the ruling, on or before October 29th. As this deadline has now passed, we have been in contact with the USFWS and we can inform you that this decision is still being processed and we will let you know as soon as the final announcement is made. As you know, LionAid has made substantial scientific contributions to to achieve the listing of lions on the ESA and we remain hopeful that there will be a positive outcome.
